GOD COMMANDED: LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY HANDED.

GOD COMMANDED: LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY HANDED. – you shall not appear before the lord empty handed, don’t come before the lord empty handed, must i go and empty handed story, rev 8:1-3, exodus 23:14, deuteronomy 16:16 commentary, exodus 23:17,what are the three feasts in the bible.

LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY-HANDED – That is a business man’s attitude. To leave empty-handed is to make loss. God knew that if the Israelite leave in their then present state, they would make loss so much.

Loss is not good both in the physical and in the spiritual.

Let this post inspire you into greatness.

Among the questions to answer in this article are:

  • What is leaving empty handed?
  • What is loss and its features?
  • What are the features of profitability.
  • What are your take-a-ways from this article?
  • Who am I?

I am looking at all these things inspirationally.
What Is Leaving Empty Handed?

Dictionaries are in agreement on what is ‘empty-handed’.

I. carrying nothing in the hands
2. having gained nothing: for example, the Israelites returned from Egypt empty-handed.
3. having nothing in the hands.
4. having achieved nothing.
5. bringing no gift, donation, etc. .
6. with nothing,
7. unsuccessful,
8. with empty pockets,
9. un-provided for.

All of these mean; if you come away from somewhere empty-handed, you have failed to get what you wanted.

Therefore if the Jews returned home empty-handed from their stay in Egypt, they had failed to get what they wanted. Remember, they came to Egypt in the first place for their well-being.

What is Gain?

The dictionaries also agreed that to gain something is the opposite of empty-handedness.
To make gain means:

1.to get (something desired), especially as a result of one’s efforts: to gain possession of an object; to gain permission to enter a country.
2.to acquire as an increase or addition: to gain weight; to gain speed.
3.to obtain as a profit: He gained ten dollars by this deal.

Gain is important for sustenance.

What Is Loss And Its Features?

Loss Means:

1.the fact that you no longer have something or have less of something: Many parents feel a sense of loss when their children fail exams.

2. a disadvantage caused by someone leaving or by something being taken away: It would be a great loss to the department if you left.

3.the death of a person: They never got over the loss of their son.

4. a situation in which a business spends more money than it gained.

Loss depletes ones wealth economically and morally.

What Are The Features Of Profitability?

From the above ideas I can say that profitability now means to gain something without loosing or leaving empty-handed.

Profitability Index is an evaluation of the profitability of an investment/action and can be compared with the profitability of other similar investments/actions which are under consideration. The profitability index is also referred to as benefit-cost ratio, cost-benefit ratio, or even capital rationing.

The profitability index is one of the numerous ways used to quantify and measure the efficiency of a proposed investment. In our context it is the measure of the Israelites leaving Egypt with something or empty-handed. Check it yourself.

The advantages of my type of Profitability Index of this adventure as I defined above are:

The profitability index tells us about increasing or decreasing the people’s value
The profitability index takes into consideration all material and cash flows from the Egyptians.
This profitability index takes the time value of their movement into consideration – such a time may not come again for them in Egypt.
The profitability index also considers the risk involved in future especially for such a long journey they were embarking upon through the wilderness.
As a business man, the profitability index is also helpful in your ranking and picking projects while rationing capital.

Sir/Madam,

Be inspired by this type of my analysis and have a retrospective thought over the type of decisions you are taking for your life commitments – business-wise and spiritually too.

Can you do a cost-benefit analysis of such decisions. Can you determine the level of the profitability index. We are told that a project with a profitability index less than 1 (one) will result into loss. Can you see that God was very fast in making these calculations noting that it would be of great loss/waste for the Israelites to leave Egypt empty-handed.

Let No One Leave Empty-Handed, was the word of God to Moses for the Israelites at mount Horeb, ‘the mount of God’.

I would want us to start now and go through our Bible references – Exodus 3 verses 21 and 22, Exodus 12 verses 35 and 36.(KJV )

GOD COMMANDED: LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY HANDED.

GOD COMMANDED: LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY HANDED.
THE EGYPTIANS YOU SHALL SEE NO MORE

21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:

22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
Exodus 12 verses 35 and 36.KJV
35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:
36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

GOD COMMANDED: LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY HANDED.

What Are Your Take-A-Ways From This Article?

Points To Note Are That:
From Genesis chapter 46: 1 – 6 – Jacob/Israel went to live in Egypt,
Genesis 46:1-6 King James Version (KJV)

And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.

2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.

5 And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him:
Joseph died and the pharaoh that favoured him and his people also died, while another pharaoh that never new him took over and subjected the Israelites to slavery.

GOD COMMANDED: LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY HANDED.

But God said in Gen 46 verse 4 …I will bring you back,
In Exodus 3 :7 and 8 , God was ready to bring them back again,

7 And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.(King James Version (KJV)
They had suffered a lot, wasted much efforts , time and other resources; and for all of their labour no wages was paid, no good food was given them or any other benefit in kind.
God now said …that no one leave empty handed. He revealed a strategy to recover quickly, as in our text, all that the Egyptians had denied them.

In writing this, I remembered that :
– God does not forget His promises,
– God is a master strategist,
– God will always provide a Moses/deliverer.

Therefore, we need to belief God this time in our lives and our country economy. No matter the situation around you, it is not as bad as we read from the bible references we had above. So make prayers with these prayer ideas believing God for your miracle;

– God I belief you – express your believe and loyalty in him again,
– My Father, My Father, send my Moses now,
– God give me strategies to control and plunder my economic environments,
– God help me with strength to take necessary step to actualise the strategies,
– Thank God: appreciate Him for doing them and you will not remain empty again.

If you have said these prayers, it is time to take action. There are a lot of business ideas you can start even now. Don’t worry if you don’t have enough capital, God will send you help; your Moses. Make contacts for business ideas and Business Plan with which you can get funds even from friends and investors. Ask for a business coach who will organise your business in a way that you will succeed.

When the Israelites left Egypt, there were “about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children” (Exodus 12:37). The “men on foot” number of 600,000 would have only included able-bodied, military-age men. The people of Israel had been living in Egypt for 430 years (Exodus 12:40). After a lengthy dispute with Pharaoh, during which God brought many plagues on the land of Egypt, Moses led the Israelites away from that land.

Scholars believe that the total number of Israelites who left Egypt during the exodus, women and children and old men included, was around 2.4 million people. If we include Egyptians who chose to join the Israelites, the number would be even greater: “Many other people went up with them, and also large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds” (Exodus 12:38).

GOD COMMANDED: LET NO ONE LEAVE EMPTY HANDED.

Remember we said above that profitability means to gain something without loosing or leaving empty-handed.

Grow your profitability index above the standard value, by taking necessary economic and moral actions, that was what the Israelites did. In fact the bible said they ‘spoilt’ the Egyptians.

Your grown profitability index will:

  • increasing your value – economically and spiritually,
  • enable you harness your environmental potentials,
  • enable you display and benefit from your God given talents,
  • as a time-value-bound exercise it will enable you take up opportunities such that may not come again your way sooner.
  • help you take care of future risks,
  • help you make good decisions.

By the time you take the necessary bolt steps into one of the business ideas and get a business coach too, you will be the envy of others. Can you imagine that even some Egyptians followed Moses and his people. Think about that when your business blossoms; share your testimonies.
